CLP-M Series:Merlin Systems, Inc. designs and
manufactures a number of collar transmitter products for
use with a wide range of species for wildlife research,
pointing dogs, hunting dogs, and pet tracking.
We have a unique transmitter system described below that
is intended to allow customers to enjoy significant
savings by providing their own collars and/or attachment
methods. In addition to being extremely rugged, compact,
lightweight, long running and weatherproof, these units
are easily and economically refurbishable.
We also sell transmitter modules with power leads and
user specified antennas that customers can attach to a
battery and housing of their choice. This allows for
greater flexibility and additional savings for those
wishing to spend even less on transmitters.

CMV-M AND CLP-M
Series Transmitters
Merlin Systems, Inc. has designed a unique transmitter
system with state-of-the-art performance at significantly
lower prices. Shop and compare and you will agree that
significant savings can be achieved using our collar
transmitter.
These are powerful, long running transmitters currently
available in two standard sizes (see below for details).
Both units are encased in a two piece, machined,
high-density, poly-carbonate housing. Housings are gasket
sealed, weatherproof and easily attached to most collar
materials. Merlin Systems provides complete attachment
instructions. These units operate on a variety of user
specified frequencies from 140 MHz to 250 MHz. Additional
frequency ranges may be available upon request.
The transmitter circuits are offered in two basic
configurations. One circuit is the CMV-M Model. This is a
crystal based oscillator circuit that emits a pulsed
signal that can be tracked with any one of the variety of
standard VHF receivers commonly available on the market.
The second is the CLP-M
Model which emits the same type of signal but the circuit
is controlled by a microprocessor. This enables it to
have a number of features including mortality sensing,
motion/pointing indication, time out features, on/off
timing, photosensing, multiple pulsing, etc.. These
transmitters are tracked in the same way with the same
readily available and commonly used receiver/antenna
systems.

The transmitter housing, battery, and antenna are fully
replaceable.
